Writing for the spoken word requires all the same skills as for the written word – plus a keen sense of rhythm and the ability to match words to visuals, usually within a tightly defined time.
Explaining complex technology is a lot easier when you combine words and moving images. And it often has more of an impact if you build a story around it. We’ve written for doodle scripts, animations and live-action films for Vodafone Group Enterprise. This often involves us creating and developing the ‘big idea’ and writing to a storyboard.
We’ve written voiceover and animation scripts to help BUPA explain complex reforms to aged care, FreeviewPlus explain its new smart TV service, Custom Fleet sell the benefits of novated leasing, and rhipe share its new cloud packages for wholesalers. We also reviewed raw footage of Lend Lease’s construction case studies to write an inspiring voiceover that would link the stories together.
Barclays Global Retail Banking wanted to explain the thinking behind its graduate strategy. We created a 3-minute script outlining its Future Leaders Development Programme and how it would attract, train and retain graduates to become the bank’s leaders of tomorrow.
Commercial insurer NIG wanted a different way to grab the attention of its brokers. Scripting short videos highlighting the key benefits and differences of products now forms an essential part of new product launches.
We’ve also scripted many short films for Royal Mail’s internal comms, often covering complex topics or detailed processes.
We’ve also worked on scripts and presentations for:
- Arriva
- GE Capital
- HBOS
- Sistema
- Sky
- The British Council
- TNT
- Toyota
