Helping DECC hit the deck running
Some years ago, we were commissioned to develop the content for the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC). We put together a team of seven writers, and set about evaluating and combining relevant information from the Defra and BERR websites.
We liaised with around 100 policy contacts to assess the content and ensure it was up to date and relevant. Once we’d done that, we got to work restructuring, editing, writing, shortening, plain-Englishing and adding new content as necessary. Of course, the site’s changed beyond recognition in the intervening years, as one might expect. But on time and on budget, in summer 2009, DECC launched its first, all-encompassing, clear, consistent site – of around 500 pages.
